The EC-LEDS Greening the Grid program sponsored two workshops in Asia and Latin America on Advancing the Use of Wind and Solar Forecasting to Facilitate the Integration of Variable Renewable Energy to the Grid.
The EC-LEDS program led two successful events focused on renewable energy resource data and tools: a Mapping the Future: Data Enables Smart Renewable Growth panel discussion and demonstrations of Philippines’ Wind Prospector and Geospatial Toolkit.

2015

The EC-LEDS program has partnered with Vietnam to implement its Payments for Environmental Services system, which accounts for $55-60 million USD annually, nearly 25% of the Vietnam government’s total annual investment in the forestry sector.
The EC-LEDS program provided technical assistance to Zambia in the development of its Intended Nationally Determined Contribution, which it submitted in September 2015 to the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change.

As part of the Greening the Grid effort, the EC-LEDS program has launched Greeningthegrid.org, a toolkit that officially debuted at the Asia Clean Energy Forum on June 16 in Manila, Philippines.

To improve energy efficiency in Gabon's public sector, the EC-LEDS program has built a strong working relationship with the country's Budget and Energy Ministries. These efforts are now bearing fruit, with the attention of Gabonese President Ali Bongo Ondimba.

As part of the U.S. Agency for International Development's (USAID's) Indonesia Clean Energy Development II (ICED II) Project, the EC-LEDS program will focus on securing additional financing for projects in the country while continuing to build the project pipeline and improve the enabling environment for small- and medium-scale renewable energy projects.

On Feb. 18, 2015, USAID and the Philippine Department of Energy launched two new resource maps: the 2014 Wind Energy Atlas for the Philippines and the Geospatial Toolkit (GsT). These new publicly available resources will help advance the country's clean energy development goals.

The President’s Fiscal Year 2016 Budget, released in February 2015, highlighted the contribution of the EC-LEDS program and the LEDS Global Partnership (LEDS GP) toward the U.S. State Department and United States Agency for International Development joint priority goals for climate change.
